Nanotechnology Research Centre has a great pleasure to have a visit from Prof. Dr. Mohamed Rashad, Dean of Advanced Materials Institute, CMRDI.
This visit comes after the workshop provided by Prof. Rashad and organized by the contracts and grants office, to BUE academics and researchers in using the skills and tools they need to write a strong research proposal which is the first step towards securing a funding opportunity. This two-hour workshop discussed various funding schemes, understanding sponsor priorities, avoiding pitfalls, preparing for the review process, and developing a competitive proposal.
Prof. Rashad is a Principal Investigator and Co-PI of more than 35 national and international projects (with partners from USA, Europe and Asia). He is an experienced reviewer for projects at STDF, ASRT, Misr Elkheir as well as other universities/institutes. Prof. Rashad published more than 210 papers, 5 book chapters and was the chairman of the National Council Committee of Advanced & New Materials, ASRT, between 2018 and 2021. Prof. Rashed was selected as one of the top 2% scientists in the world in Applied Physics and Materials Science according to Stanford list. He was awarded the State Prize of Excellence in Advanced Science and Technology 2014, the Egyptian Academy Award in Environmental Studies 2014, the First State Incentive Award for Advanced Sciences 2006, Excellence prize in Materials Science and Technology (Prof. Fawzy Hammad) 2008 and Prize of Excellence and Innovation in Environmental Studies (Prof. Osama Kholy Prize) 2012. Order of Merit Medal, First Class in Science & Arts from the President of Egypt 2017.
